Co-enzyme Q10 is found in foods, particularly organ meat, but cooking and processing methods tend to destroy it and, whilst it can be made in the body, production declines as we age. In fact, a lack of energy in older people may, in part, be connected with lower co-enzyme Q10 production in the body.

A lack of co-enzyme Q10 has been associated with periodontal (gum) disease. Similarly it has been shown that those with certain heart conditions and people who are overweight tend to have low co-enzyme Q10 levels.

Also known as ubiquinone, co-enzyme Q10 is the enzyme responsible for the last biochemical pathway required for energy production within our cells. It is therefore not surprising to find the highest concentrations of co-enzyme Q10 in those organs which have the highest energy requirements, such as the heart muscle and liver, and in those tissues that regenerate quickly such as the gums.

There are two different methods that can be used for the production of coenzyme Q10, one method employs a ‘natural’ process and the other uses chemical synthesis – a synthetic process. The natural process utilizes living organisms and is referred to as a “biological fermentation/extraction process.” Coenzyme Q10 can also be synthesized by a chemical process, which produces a similar, but distinctly different product that contains chemical compounds not found in the natural form. CoQ10 Complex with Chromium Picolinate & AquaSource Algae contains the natural form of coenzyme Q10.

Provides Chromium Picolinate

Chromium Picolinate is an easily absorbable form of Chromium, an important mineral that plays a vital role in the metabolism of glucose in the body and is important for normal carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism.

Key Advantages:

  • Known as a coenzyme, this powerful, versatile antioxidant plays a role in converting food and oxygen into metabolic energy
  • Uses only naturally produced CoQ10
  • Taken from purest sources and suitable for use by all
  • Chromium in the easily assimilable Picolinate form for better absorption
  • Also contains AquaSource Algae – never frozen, and dried at low temperature using the AquaSource proprietary BioActive Dehydration® Process

Take 1 or 2 capsules daily with a meal.

Chromium supplements have been shown to improve blood sugar control in people with diabetes. Consequently, supplementing with chromium could reduce blood sugar levels in people with taking insulin, potentially resulting in abnormally low blood sugar levels (hypoglycaemia). While chromium supplementation may be beneficial for people with diabetes, its use in combination with insulin or with any other blood sugar-lowering medication should be supervised by a doctor.
